You know I'm just as much of a coke addict as you are. It has not been easy, but I've cut down to 1-2 a day. Cold turkey just ain't an option, nor is it necessary, if you ask me. Nothing wrong with it, per se. The issue is the empty calories. So cutting down lets you keep the pleasure, and get back in shape. For me, it's currently one with supper. Water or coffee the rest of the day (since coffee has much fewer empty calories - which isn't to say it has not, just fewer than coke - that said, I only drink the coffee if I find myself really desperately needing the caffeine hit).

As for the willpower and self-control part, I only have this to say: there's a huge difference between knowing that you should do something vs. wanting to do something. If you aren't in the 100% WANTING category, you really are going to have a difficult time sticking with it. That's just fact, not much more I can say about that.

I also suck as a cook so I have no recipes for you aside from this laughable article I wrote a while back. It gets a shitload of search engine hits so I can tell you're not alone in this hunt.
