does anyone know of any employment opportunities for a young, intelligent, enterprising english major at home for summer break?

being jobless is making me go insane. i've pretty much wanted to yell at everyone who's spoken to me in the past week.

check for "extra help" positions at the universities in town, or contact the parks and rec department. You can always try to go back to that Gallery 7 thing you did to work as a creative writing instructor. *shrugs* other than that - you can look for jobs in libraries, ice cream shops, or bookstores.
