Well today I had my first chinese lesson. It's hard to get all the tones right. It makes a difference if you have different intonations for feiji. One tone means airplane and the other one means fat chicken. how weird is that...

who are you taking lessons from? pretty dern cool, are you learning how to write it too? I have a chinese friend named mike. He sometimes leaves out linking verbs when he speaks. It must be because of translation and usage differences.....jULIA

from this joanne woo lady. no we aren't learning how to write it... they don't have words like 'an' and 'a' which is weird.

I hate Chinese...grrrr :(
And there are loads of mis pronunciations like that...but people usually get what you mean in context.

dude i'm in flippin chinese 4 its pretty sweet. the tones are mad hard, try the word ma....it means 4 different things depending on which tone you use. you're super lucky you don't have to write it though, that's the worst part....
