for most of them i was using the Canon 50mm f1.4, for the wide-angle shots i was using.... my sister's fully manual Nikon 20mm f2.8 with an Nikon-to-Canon adapter ring :)

i knew there was no way i was going to be able to get the wide group shots of the table at 2.8 without *somebody* moving, so i braced the camera against the wall and took 4-5 pictures. when i got home, i pulled them all into photoshop and, starting with the "best" one, masked in sharp versions of the couple of people who were too drunk to sit still for longer than 1/2 second. it was pretty easy, as they were all trying to hold still.

my friend Tungsten (sitting under the ominous portrait at the table) took a bunch there too... but he did them all with the Canon 50mm f1.8, which shows you how much better he is than me!

Doom 3... before she left she was concerned that she hadn't had enough practice, but on the 3rd day there was still not a single person who had won a match against her -- i think one or two people managed to survive (stay under the 7 fraglimit) until the 7 minute timelimit expired.

On the contrary. Doom 3 multiplayer is slow as molasses compared to just about any decent FPS.
