Well, after Walking Coyote sold his animals to Charles Allard and Flathead chief Michel Pablo in Montana, the herd grew. But eventually, the American government threw open the Flathead reservation to settlement, and refused to grant the surviving partner (Pablo) range for the animals. He approached both the government and the American Bison society
