A woman hiking in Jasper park just recently lost her four-year-old Entlebucher mountain dog to a wolf. Suddenly her dog was running past her, oblivious, pursued by what she thought was a Husky. Unless the humans were able to convey to the wolfpack that they would suffer severe damage trying to take out the whole human pack at once, probably the danger would shift to the humans and the dog both. But I guess the dog wasn't thinking of the humans as safety. Probably the dog ran by thinking "Hey dumbshit! I'm running away! Why aren't you running too?"

Yeah where the lady was writing about her chasing the wolf into the woods in the growing dark. My first thought was "not without a serious firearm I ain't!"
