Tonight is cast change night for the West End production of Les Miserables and it's hitting me hard even though I won't be there to see it.

I have been in love with Les Miserables since I was a little girl. I can't remember my very first memories of Les Mis but I do remember having the London Cast Recording on audio cassette. I was an imaginative ( Read more... )

Hi! Just stumbled on your post and I think I know how you feel.
I went to the final matinee yesterday and I'm still a bit down even though it was of course a fantastic show.
Thaxton was on. I'd seen him before, but, unbelievably, I hadn't really noticed him because I was paying attention to other people who were on that day (I know, shocking...). So I didn't realise how good he was! Yesterday I finally realised that none of the fangirl talk is exaggerated, he really IS that good and I'm gutted I went to see it so late because now I won't get the chance to see him again!
He still did the jump off the barricade, which must have been agony with his back..

Also entirely agree about Jonathan Williams. Saw him for the first time yesterday. He is so talented I can't believe he's not got 1st cast yet! Such a beautiful voice.

Hi! Thanks for commenting, it's great to hear from someone else who feels the same way, and especially from someone who was there for the final matinee! :)

I was so relieved to hear that Thaxton had gone on and got the cheers he deserved. He really is a talent and I wish I could be in London for the beginning of Passion later this year. I completely understand paying attention to everyone else as well though. When I visited anyway, it was such a well-rounded cast that everyone was worthy of attention!

I'm glad you enjoyed the show, even though it was bittersweet.
