Hello fellow Pitt fan! This is me from Tumblr whose blog you've very kindly been liking and reblogging. I just wanted to thank you for that, but I don't know how to do comments over there, so I'm very glad to have found you here instead. :)
I so agree with what you said above about wishing you could hear Pitt speak, and I love those quotes from O'Connell. His remark that Pitt "managed his voice admirably" does seem to underline how much theatricality went into being a successful Commons performer in those days.
I don't know if you're into fanfic at all, but if you happen to wander over to my journal you'll find three pieces of actual Pitt fic! (One of them is looong, and one of them is very slashy.) Hello! Yes tumblr takes some figuring out. I'm pretty sure you have to either reblog and add your comments to the post or tick the reply button when you make a new post so that people can comment on your items. I'm so glad that you found me too! I meant to say in my previous comment that your own blog looks pretty awesome too! And yay, I look forward to seeing some Pitt posts from you!
Regarding the fanfic, in case you're brave enough to tackle the longfic, I should probably specify that it's really an AU. Ie, I have taken certain liberties with the character which I hope you won't take amiss. I don't know why I'm suddenly jittery about it - probably because no-one with an in depth knowledge of Pitt's life has actually read it before...
