tonight marked my 6th straight day working. i know that doesn't seem like a lot to some, but if you wait tables for a living, it feels like two whole weeks. i think about when i hosted at fleming's, working two weeks without a day off. i could do that easily now, but i'm glad i don't have to anymore. i've made a lot of money this week but you'd ( Read more... )

where do you waitress? i hated waiting tables, but i know i had it pretty easy since i only worked at country clubs. i don't know what to say about the e.d. stuff. i lived with my best friend's sister for a year and she had some serious e.d. issues, which was pretty sad to witness first hand since she's beautiful and talented and just couldn't keep her grip on things. and it was hard to be there and not be able to help or not know if it's my place to say anything. so this is a bit like that. i'm glad you realize what you're doing so that hopefully you'll know if you're taking things too far and will get help before there's a serious problem.

it sounds weird and naive to say this, but i think i've reached a point where i have control over this, even though i have heard many a friend and shrink say that this disease is about losing control of a lot of things. i agree and disagree with that assumption. i know that i won't let myself get as sick as i have been in the past.

i work at a restaurant in downtown indianapolis called iaria's. it's an italian place owned by the iaria family since 1933. pretty much everyone there is related. the place is really great and laid back. i like it there. i think i've finally found somewhere that i know i can stay for a while. through college, at least.
