He loses it.
Kyungsoo is too busy trying to remain unnoticeable to see you, until Kai points you out to him.
The moment his eyes fall on you, his heart skips and suddenly all he wants to do is hold you and feel the little goosebumps on your arm when he leans close to whisper in your ear and kiss you.
All previous resolve to forget about you crumbles down in a flash.
His heart is aching terribly.
And he realizes he misses you more than he thought he did.
But then he sees Chanyeol appearing next to you, bold and striking in height and presence. And he remembers why he's trying hard to forget.

He swallows bitterly.
"Do you want to... leave first?"

The elder simply nods and turns to go.
However, at that moment, Sehun brings Jongdae to the table and his departure is thwarted.
"Hyung you are leaving?!" The youngest cries out in disbelief.
"Hey! You can't leave yet! You just got here!" Jongdae shouts merrily over the music.
"I've got something on!" Kyungsoo replies. "Sorry!"
"At least have a drink first!!" The main pushes a glass of orange liquid into his hands.
The Shapeshifter immediately identifies the concoction.
"It's the leftover stash from the joint party a few weeks ago! It's wicked but it's free and we are strapped for cash here, so just add some vodka and it's good to go!" Jongdae urges him on. "One drink! And you can go!!"
Kyungsoo eyes the glass and holding his breath, he gulps it down.

"I think I'll go over and say hi, is that ok with you?" Amber queries.
You just blink and doesn't answer.
She goes over anyway.
When she reaches the table, the guys are goading Kyungsoo to drink and she waits patiently for them to move off.
"Hey Kai, where's Krystal?!" She quizzes.
"She gave me up for another lady!" The Teleporter shrugs.
Amber chuckles.
"You'll find another one! And Soo Jin! Why are you in your male form?!"
The Shapeshifter seems genuinely alarmed by her question.
"I told her to!" Kai jumps in.
The elder shoots him a look.
"And what's this?!" She points to the glass.
"Leftovers from the joint party, they say!" Kyungsoo grimaces.
Amber frowns at the mention of it.
"Then you'll probably need an antidote!"
"I'm going back now to make it!" He nods.
But he didn't get to act on his plan because two girls suddenly surround him, urging him to dance. Kai and Amber are left gawking as the reluctant Shapeshifter got dragged to the dance floor.

You watch dumbfounded as two girls lead Kyungsoo to the dance floor, gyrating their slim and sleek bodies against his whilst he stands awkwardly in the middle, not knowing what to do.
Though you appreciate that he isn't reacting to them, you just can't help but feel a pang of jealousy seep through your veins. Your power is throbbing in your body and you fight to not release them on the two young females.
The music slows at this moment and Chanyeol walks up to you, extending a hand.
"Care for a dance?"
You glance over his shoulder to see one of the girls pulling Kyungsoo into a slow waltz.
Why isn't he pushing her away?
You feel a rush of impulse and takes Chanyeol's hand.
"Let's go."

Kyungsoo is cursing silently under his breath as the girl (who introduces herself as Juri) latching onto him is a Super.
Most likely someone with Possession. He is unable to free himself unless he uses his powers, which he isn't sure is wise to do at someone else's party.
But then he sees you joining the dance floor with Chanyeol.
The first pang of jealousy hits when the other slides his arm across your waist, then holding your hand.
The hand that he knows is delicate and soft to the touch.
The second is when he pulls you closer and you don't resist.
That proximity is the one that allows him to whiff the scent of your hair.
He's biting his lip so hard he tastes the metallic zing of blood.

"Where are you looking, ______ sshii?"
Chanyeol asks softly and turns around to see what is it that has caught your attention, but your hand darts up to direct his face back.
"N-Nothing."
You notice the surprise in his eyes when you touch his face and instantly pulls your hand back, apologizing quickly. But Chanyeol has that dazed look in his eyes and suddenly he is grazing your cheek with his hand, and the next minute you know, he is dipping down to close the distance.
