Diva Cup! That is, a new medical-grade silicone menstrual cup! I've been using the same Diva Cup since ~2006, and I decided it was time for a replacement. About 7 years out of one $35 cup? At 25 days per cycle that's ~102 periods working out to ~$0.

Special soap, hah! Mine just recommends boiling it, which seems entirely sensible.

The thing that has been the biggest help for me is figuring out how to get it to pop open, and thus be 'sealed'. I do the 'run my finger around it' method, though the new one is a little less stiff and takes a bit more finagling and doesn't really 'pop' the same way my old one did. But once it is all the way open, I'm set!
I generally just rinse mine out in the shower during my period, and then give it a good soap and rinse when I'm done. I should probably boil it more often just to be extra sanitary, but I don't do it that often.

I always always want to proselytize to everyone I know about how really great they are, but I think it gets kinda weird fast. But really! So great! So functional! So cheap! So compact!
