Tokyo, Japan, and the STN-J Offices. Tuesday Afternoon & Evening.

Dōjima hated everything.

This was a trap; she knew it was a trap. She was following a male Witch down a dark - dirty, ew - alley into a damn trap. Her trap.

Blessed kami, some days she loved her day-job.

His step faltered as there came the sound of footsteps from in front of him as well, and Karasuma started coming into view, and he realized he'd been played. He wasn't going to get to have his way with silly Yurika who wound up in the wrong spot...he was going to meet the business end of Miss Karasuma's gun.

The only warning Yurika had was the ripple of his coat, once, in an unseen wind, before he unleashed a three-hundred and sixty telekinetic bust, sending a trash-can and other debris at her and at Karasuma. By the time the air cleared? He was gone. Fuck.

"Hey, Michael. We've lost Muroi...."

By the time they'd found him - on a roof, hours later - the police were already there and the case was officially out of the STN-J jurisdiction. Muroi was dead, with a clean puncture wound and a paper crane to show for his escape.

Then it was two cranes. Three. With three bodies. And Yurika knew who the Hunter was, and what he was after.

Sastre. The creepy fucker could blow her cover completely. Dōjima hated everything.

And there was nothing she could do. Dōjima closed her phone, thumbing it off. Robin was on her own for this one.

* * * * *

Karasuma and Sakaki had witnessed it go down. Robin had somehow managed to deflect attacks of air, and burned Sastre, one of SOLOMON's top hunters and a prize protege of Father Juliano himself, to a crisp.

Only to have Amon arrive, name Robin as Witch, and leave, just as mysteriously.

Dōjima was having none of that, when they came back to the office and reported the news. The words 'my Witch of a fist in his face!' may have been threatened, but the Chief made her go back to her desk.

"A Hunter from HQ?"

"So you really think he's here to hunt Robin?" Sakaki asked, leaning over the back of his chair. They'd all given up any pretense of working once Michael had made his discovery, and were having a hushed impromptu conference.

"Can you think of another reason for him to show up?" Michael asked dryly.

"If that's the case, then what's Headquarters saying about him?" Karasuma interrupted, before the boys could get into another one of their fights.

"Not a word," Michael huffed, disgruntled. "All they're saying right now is that a Hunter's been sent to Japan. Nothing about his name or his objective."

"What do you suppose they're up to then?" Miho pressed.

"Well It's pretty clear that they don't trust us anymore," Sakaki replied.

"--What do you mean?" Dōjima cut in, looking at the younger Hunter.

"Oh come on," he retorted, giving his patented 'Dōjima is a moron' eyeroll. "You know what I mean, don't ya?"

"You mean the deal with Zaizen & HQ?" she asked, innocently. "Well, yeah, I definately get the feeling they're not getting along." DUH.

"You've got a point," Miho agreed. "I guess the fact there's no talk of collaboration between departments means the bosses are on bad terms right now...In fact," Karasuma continued a mission plan taking form in the back of her mind, "I bet we could find Robin easily if we set our minds to it, after all, our information gathering capability here in Japan is better than theirs."

Sakaki lowered his head. "But then if it turns out we have to help them, they'd make us take part in the hunt."

"Forget it," Dōjima huffed, crossing her arms and shaking her head. "There's no way I'd ever do that." She tossed her head to toss her hair back over her shoulder. "Eh? What's the matter, Karasuma-san?"

"I'm sorry," she sighed. "I guess I was just thinking about Amon, and I was wondering what he was doing there."

"If you're talking about the other day, it seemed like he was being totally hostile to Robin-chan!" Dōjima added. After all, he had officially branded her 'Witch' for self-defense. Ass.

"And he hasn't even bothered to show up at the office," Sakaki interrupted. "I mean, man, what's happening to this organization?"

It was a good question, but not one Yurika could answer honestly. Instead, she just looked away as Hattori came over to try and cheer them up.

She had work to do tonight.
