bakakim got me thinking about travel.
I think I'm going to put away money to go to the UK. London, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Dublin, Galway, Stratford upon Avon, etc. I was thinking about doing more of Europe, but I kind of want to be thorough. $2000 should do it, right?

That much travel might need more than 2000. Do some research with tour-guides to get an idea of hotel prices, food prices, transportation, etc.

I did a little bit, apparently you can do 2 weeks in Europe on $1,800 USD.

As part of a tour group? Yeah, on group rates, you could get around on that amount. However, it's always a good idea to make sure you've got extra money in case you decide to stay an extra day somewhere, or you find an awesome souvenir (BTW, if you happen to see David Tennent, could you grab him for me?) that costs more than what you originally budgeted for.

Actually, you might want to look into group tours of those areas because you CAN get a better rate on hotels and tour tickets and what-not.

hey do the contiki tour thing. I'm thinking I might to Greece or Europe. the one I was looking into was 9 days, you stay in a hotel, you see a lot and you get to go on a cruise around the island for 3 days while stopping to see the sights. with my fight and everything (not counting spending money for gifts and one or two bar nights) it came to 1700 which is REALLY good. also I get to make friends with other people my age doing the same thing, since it's only for 18-30 year olds :D they have other trips too that are cheaper :D

Dear gods help me I sound like I work for them now

LOL That sounds sweet!! I'll look into that. I won't be anywhere near able to afford it for a while, I'll be putting away small bits of cash for a while. Maybe after I finish grad school?
