Title: Behind the Scenes
Pairing: Yunho/Changmin
Summary: Yunho, a successful novelist, has taken to writing his books in a spare room in his best friend's photo studio. Once he learns that Changmin would like to star in one of those books, that idea quickly begins to lead a life of its own.
Chapter Five
"Why? I mean...sure. But why?"
"To commemorate the moment of you letting me inspire you for once instead of the other way around," Changmin said.
Before Yunho could ask what he meant by that, Changmin had jumped up and left to room to fetch his camera.
"I know you don't like it," he said when he came back, "but I'll make it quick. Just...sit there, the way you sit when you're writing."
Yunho was still holding his laptop. "Do I actually pretend to be writing, or.."
"No," Changmin took the laptop and placed it on the table. "Just, be you."
That was one of those vague instructions that convinced Yunho that models had their own kind of secret language that no one else understood. He definitely wasn't a model, and he felt awkward.
Changmin didn't even seem to notice. He walked around him and took pictures, sometimes asking him to look into the camera and away from it other times. Yunho noticed that he kept coming closer, and that he wasn't just taking pictures of his face. Yunho shifted his legs, and Changmin paused for a moment.
He had that concentrated expression again, the one he used strictly for behind the camera, never in front of it. But Yunho couldn't stop thinking how good it would look in a picture. He would have to try to capture it some day, borrow one of Changmin's cameras and catch him unawares.
Changmin came closer again, looked over the camera and then through it, shot another picture and smiled at the result. A cold professional one moment and an adorable happy man the next. And suddenly everything was so clear to Yunho. Fiction and reality separated and all that mattered was this man in front of him right now, so close he could touch him if he reached out his hand.
It was pictures of Changmin he couldn't stop staring at, Changmin's smile he longed to see and Changmin's body he kept imagining in only boxer-briefs, or nothing. He loved when Changmin brought him tea, not because of the tea, but because of the conversations that followed. And Changmin could say he hated his shorts every day, but Yunho would keep wearing them, because Changmin would still look at him. Maxim was just an excuse, and Savez...for the first time the inspector had outsmarted his creator.
Yunho felt a confidence and determination he'd never possessed before. He was in control of the moment. It was clear in the way Changmin glanced at him and simply couldn't stop taking pictures, like something in the way Yunho looked was holding him captive.
"It's okay to put that down and check me out without it," Yunho said. "It's only getting in your way."
Changmin lowered the camera and stood up straight. "What do you mean?"
Yunho stood up as well. He took a step closer. "You've looked long enough. Don't you want to touch me too?" He took the camera from Changmin's hands and placed it next to his laptop. Changmin took a step back, but there was a wall behind him and he couldn't go any further. Yunho took another step, and something changed in Changmin's eyes. Confusion turned into disbelief, and hope.
"Yes," Yunho said, hoping he was answering an unspoken question correctly.
Something snapped in Changmin. There was desire in his eyes now. And he finally said something again.
"Yunho, you've been confusing me lately and I'm... I need to you stop me.. if this is not what you want." He was so close that, next to his breath on his face, Yunho could feel the physical attraction between them, invisible energy pulling them together. "..please say something...I don't think I can.." Changmin's voice was close to breaking.
He drew in a quick breath when Yunho's hands touched his face and pulled him close.
Changmin's lips were so soft compared to the hard edge of his jaw. They parted almost immediately, more from shock than anything else, but Yunho used the opportunity to deepen the kiss. And Changmin kissed him back. He moved a hand to the back of Yunho's head and held him in place.
Their bodies aligned. Yunho could feel the ridges of Changmin's muscles and bones press against him and moved a hand down to feel the smooth skin of his back, pushing it underneath his shirt.
Changmin nipped at his bottom lip, pushed a hand into his shirt as well and Yunho's body started to heat up so much the air around him felt cold. He suddenly stopped what he was doing and moved a hand to his crotch, pushing Changmin's away in the process.
Changmin pulled back immediately. He turned away and covered his face with his hands, then pushed them into his hair. "I knew it! Damn it, Yunho, no mixed signals. I enjoy our friendship. So, please, just forget-"
Yunho would have laughed if Changmin hadn't seemed so upset. "Stop it," he said. He grabbed Changmin's wrist and pulled him back to face him. "I just needed to-," he pulled on his jeans and shifted his hips, not even trying to hold back his moan, "-adjust, because of how much I was enjoying that. Of course, the one day I decide to wear jeans instead of shorts..." He took Changmin's other wrist as well and directed both hands back to his hips. "Okay?"
"But you're.." Changmin stepped close again like he couldn't resist, even though his voice was still protesting. "You're straight."
"Yeah," Yunho laughed. "So was inspector Savez."
"What?" Changmin looked confused again.
Changmin didn't need to know about Yunho's slow journey to self discovery though a fictional character. At least not right this moment. Yunho decided to make it easier for him to understand. He pinned Changmin against the wall and pressed their bodies together. Changmin gasped and tightened his grip on Yunho's hips. "Gay for you," Yunho breathed against his lips.
Changmin immediately turned them around and pushed him up against the wall instead, kissing him almost desperately, with no further restraint. Yunho didn't mind at all. He pushed his fingers into Changmin's hair again and let his other hand slide down to the curve of his ass. Changmin moaned into his mouth.
They broke apart and looked at each other, panting. "You want this," Changmin said. Finally it was more a statement than a question.
"I want you," Yunho confirmed anyway.
Changmin's fingers slid over the bulge in his jeans and Yunho hissed. "Get it off," he pleaded.
The fingers expertly snapped open the button and pulled down the fly, too slowly. Yunho pulled Changmin head towards him and urged him on with another kiss. The warm palm of a hand rubbed over his erection through his underwear and Yunho almost bit down on Changmin's lip. He tried to reach for the front of Changmin's slacks as well, but Changmin pressed close again, rubbing against his leg. He took quick, shuddering breaths.
"You like my thighs," Yunho said when Changmin's moist lips pressed against his jaw.
"You noticed," Changmin said. It tickled Yunho's neck.
He moaned and said: "I noticed a lot of things when I started looking at you as more than a friend."
Changmin pulled back a bit and looked at him, but his fingers were still wrapped around Yunho's cock. Yunho's eyelids fluttered and it was hard to stay focused. Still, he tried to reach for Changmin again.
Changmin moved his hips back. "Don't," he said softly. "Going to come as soon as you touch me."
Yunho smiled. "Good, because this is torture." He reversed their position again. Changmin's hand slipped out of his jeans and he thrust his hips forward, rolling them against the bulge in Changmin's slacks again and again. His lips found a good spot just below Changmin's ear. Changmin groaned when he used his tongue. His fingers clawed at Yunho's back, pulling on his shirt.
Yunho yanked Changmin against him, closed his lips around a spot on his neck and sucked. He had no idea what Changmin liked and worried if he was being too rough, but from the reaction he got he deduced he was doing something right.
Changmin cried out, arched his back and came. His body froze and he gasped out Yunho's name. Then he sagged against the wall and turned his face away.
"You're beautiful," Yunho said and pressed a kiss to the side of his head. He'd only done this once before with a woman, trap her between the wall and his body and make her come. Changmin wasn't very different, only better.
"I...I need to sit down," Changmin said. He took Yunho's hand to show he wanted him to follow and lead them to his writing chair.
Changmin lowered himself into his spot, so Yunho sat down sideways, on his lap, the way he usually sat when writing, but now with Changmin underneath him. Changmin looked partly amused and partly in disbelief still. Yunho bent down and kissed him.
Changmin's hand touched his knee and slowly slid down over his thigh. Yunho wanted to lift his hips in encouragement, but the position was awkward, with his body folded in half and twisted sideways. Changmin's hand had full access to his cock though, which had already created a wet spot in his underwear.
"Fuck," Changmin breathed into their kiss. "If only you'd worn shorts today." His hand continued to stroke Yunho's thigh. "I want to feel your skin."
"Later," Yunho said, moaning. "Please, first...Changmin, please."
Changmin smirked. "If you ask me like that..." His other hand twisted in Yunho's hair and pulled him down so Changmin could push his tongue into his mouth. The hand on Yunho's thigh finally moved to his cock, rubbed against it through the fabric and then pulled it free. Long fingers wrapped around the shaft and pulled, long fast strokes, slick with pre-come.
Yunho whined, deep in his throat. He froze, pushed his fingers into Changmin's shoulders and tried not to bite down on his tongue. His entire body tensed up. Pleasure twisted through him, spread like electricity and exploded. He closed his eyes, let out a silent scream and covered his stomach in come. Changmin was still stroking him through the aftershocks when he let his head fall back over the armrest to finally stretch his back.
Changmin chuckled. "Are you okay?"
"Mmm." Yunho kept his eyes shut and shivered when Changmin finally let go of his softening cock.
"You are wearing Calvin Klein."
Yunho smiled. "I knew you'd like it."
"I need a shower," Changmin said. "I have a shoot in two hours." And that was when Yunho remembered where they were. He sincerely hoped that no one had arrived yet. There may be a private sign on the door, but still anyone could have come in, or heard...
"Do you want to come upstairs with me?" Changmin asked.
Yunho grinned. "Aren't you moving a little fast?"
Changmin pulled a shocked face. "Me? You practically jumped me. You could have...I don't know, asked me out first, started with a kiss. Hey, I still believed you were straight ten minutes ago."
Yunho sat up and touched Changmin face. He knew that Changmin wasn't actually upset, but he still felt this was necessary.
"I'm sorry," he said. "For being blind for so long."
Changmin looked at him, understood that it had been a genuine apology, and smiled. "You're forgiven." He said. "Come upstairs with me."
"Are you all right?" Maxim was wrapped in a blanket, but still naked underneath. Savez hugged him carefully as he checked for injuries.
"I told him I wouldn't do it." Maxim was crying. "I told them they could kill me and I wouldn't give them what they want."
"You didn't have to do that. You could have just told us what was going on," Savez said. "I shouldn't have left you. Thank god you're not hurt."
"It's not your fault. I shouldn't have kept something from you. Please, forgive me?"
Savez shook his head. He ignored his own tears and wiped at Maxim's. "I forgive you. I love you."
Yunho jumped in his chair when someone slammed down a copy of his book on the table to his right.
"What even was that ending?!" Jiyeon demanded. "Talk about cliché."
"I thought this was what you wanted," Yunho said, picking up the book and checking for damage. He wasn't worried about the book itself so much as the cover designed by his favourite designer and, more importantly, the picture by his favourite photographer. "Do you know how hard it was to get this published?"
"Yes, but," Jiyeon protested. "Okay, it was good, but that ending...is this really how the series ends? Love Over Crime? A happily ever after? Really?"
"Didn't you say-" Yunho started, but he was interrupted by Changmin, shouting from the other room. "Just give up, Yunho, she will never be satisfied."
Jiyeon huffed. "Shut up, Maxim." She turned back to Yunho. "Well, at least you made my arrogant brother walk around in his underwear for half of it."
Yunho smiled. That was one of the best mental images to not have to pull from his imagination anymore. "I've never said this was the last book in the series, only implied it. I'm keeping my options open. But even if I do end it, I might start a new series. Maybe you'll like that one better?"
"I know I will," Changmin said from the doorway.
Jiyeon made a gagging noise. "Ugh, no. It's going to be all lovey-dovey and happily ever after from now on, isn't it? Your career is officially doomed."
"I don't know," Yunho said. "I think I've learned to separate fiction from reality."
"I think there's nothing wrong with happily ever after," Changmin said.
Yunho smiled, and Changmin smiled back.
"Did I play a part in you two getting together? What have I done?" Jiyeon muttered as she quickly left the room.
