Is it just me, or is anyone else convinced there would be no Tea Party movement with crazy right-wing xtian rallies in DC if all that was different in the country was that Obama was white and his name was Jones?

Especially with the screaming about all the horrors Obama has done to destroy the country, and meanwhile I have no clue what they’re referring to, unless they really think that expanding health coverage to a few million more people makes one as bad as Hitler and Stalin combined…

Bush and his wars an power grabs expanded spending and the size and level of intrusion of government, running the economy into the ground and stripping away basic civil rights. And these same racist crackers all adored him! >_<

I've given up trying to understand American politics^^ Healthcare should be a basic right for everyone in any country yet the American right wing makes it sound like a Soviet era plot. Maybe I need to be American to understand? XD

Well, giving a nation an outside enemy to blame is always a convenient excuse. It worked for Bush and it's still working for Iran's president now.

To make more amusing in a depressing kind of way, most of these same people are covered by Social Security (government provided pension) and Medicare (government provided health insurance), two blatantly socialist programs they all love! Meanwhile they don’t want anyone else to get any help, because that would be socialism (???). They’d prefer to see poor people die from lack of medical care, while those same poor people are paying taxes to support socialist programs for old wealthy people and rich corporations >_<

I’ve lived here my whole life and I don’t understand American politics either ^^;;

*sighs* Yeah, nothing like having an enemy to rally support! For the Tea Party it seems to be anyone who isn’t them. But especially non-whites, non-christians, and homosexuals.. Pretty much all foreigners too..
