The Hogwarts Development Office: Part 2

Aug 14, 2006 01:00

catkind told me a couple of entries ago about her One LJ Rule - Never Apologise. This is an excellent rule, and I apologise for not being able to keep to it :-)I'm sorry it's taken me so long to update this. I'm still not completely happy with it, but if I don't post it, I'll never get on to the next part where I feel the heart of the story is (actually, ( Read more... )

Oh dear, I am extremely embarrassed that you wrote birthday gift-fic for me and I didn't even know about it until four months after the fact! With musical!propagandist!Rosier, no less! Belated thanks, anyway, and I'm really sorry I never noticed this before.

So things are rapidly becoming more sinister -- I like the way the hints from the first installment get darker once you work out exactly what the family connections are.

Oh, and I love the fact that wizarding spell-check bears a suspicious resemblance to the Microsoft version :)

(Why does my internet connection have to choose the day after I post something to go down????)

Don't feel embarrassed at all! I think you were on the move in Canada then, and only snatching brief moments on the Net, and I knew that since you have such a big f-list it would be very easy for you to miss it. I didn't want to bounce up and down and go 'look what I wrote for you!', especially since the next part was meant to be up soon and you'd see then... I should have known myself better! My fault entirely.

Anyway, I'm very glad you like it. Musical!propagandist!Rosier's article was originally meant to be of Celestina, as a real tribute to One For To Make My Heart Rejoice, since I was thinking that Cauldron Full Of Hot Strong Love could still have been explainable by her management steering her away from her musical starting point into a more commercial direction, which a little bit of Rosier influence could reverse - and then I looked her up on the Lexicon and saw that according to the Frog cards she was born in 1919, and it just ( ... )

Nice stuff -- good to see the pure-blood equivalent of upper-class twits! I rather like the idea of DE-influenced alumni magazine, and am curious to see what Sluggy makes of it all.

Thanks! I'm sure there are a fair few pureblood twits around... I hope it came across that, for all his attempts to look assured, Hilliard isn't really much more capable than Vere. I shall try hard to get the next part up soon.

Now the action's hotting up! I'm very intrigued to see where this is going.

So I'd better make sure the next installment appears more quickly than this one did! Thanks for reviewing.

I liked the way the clubby, upper-crust fussing got serious fast. And Slughorn's appearance at the end--I'm very interested in what he'll have to say.

Oak panelling doesn't keep out the real world, and those who play with fire, etc... Since I seem to have managed to intrigue people, I really will do my best to get on with the next part and bring Slughorn on. Thanks very much for reviewing!

Oh dear. Can I assume the Baddock wedding spread included a lengthy bit about the propagation of the fit? I, too, am intrigued about what Slughorn is going to say, and what he said about last year’s edition, too. Nice to see Childe!Rosier.

Poor Marcia, not even able to enjoy the Schadenfreude as the assistant editors have to do a bit of work.

Actually, lengthy discussions of eugenics are probably a bit beyond Vere... There still is a fair amount of the magazine which is just pretty pictures of the 'right' kind of people - aiming for a certain feel rather than any specific message.

Childe!Rosier. You are brilliant, you know.
