Iconfic the Second, for lyras

Apr 24, 2007 00:15

Er, half of it, anyway. Because lyras chose my london skyline icon as fic inspiration, and I haven't got to that part yet! But I wanted to post something for her today, as it is her BIRTHDAY, and she is lovely in very many ways... - and since this seemed to fall naturally into two parts, and the first part featured Neville, here it is. I hope you like ( Read more... )

I utterly, completely adore the image of the Crumple-Horned Snorkack nearly taking off the top of a pagoda with its tail. That is all :)

If only I had even a small amount of icon-making skill. I'd definitely try and capture the image. Glad I made you smile...

Birthday fic - how brilliant. Thank you!

And I love it. I think it stands pretty well on its own, actually, although I'll be interested to see the second part. Poor Neville. I can see him being terrified of change, especially in this little haven that he, Luna and Theodore seem to have set up for themselves.

The ending is absolutely beautiful - so vivid, and so Luna! Thank you again - this is lovely.

Did you participate in springtime_gen, btw?

So glad you enjoyed it! I was pleased that it did divide so neatly into two parts, as I probably wouldn't have posted if it had felt unfinished and spent today scolding myself for initial procrastination...

No, I didn't write for springtime_gen - still running scared of exchange fics as I don't trust my writer's block not to mess things up. Shame, as I really enjoy writing for people. I think I might know why you asked - will have to leave a comment on that Forget-me-Knot fic, which I really enjoyed. And catch up with the rest of the comm, for that matter. Fell behind when I went on holiday...

Aha, I did wonder :). In fact, I was going to point you to that story, and then I saw that you were watching the comm and decided against it, just in case!

Oh, lovely - beautiful Luna, with the combination of wisdom and doing strange things with plates, And Neville is very convincing, too.

Despite loving them and being very interested in them, I don't actually find Luna and Neville that easy to write, so I'm always glad when people say they 'work.' Thank you!

Oh, that is just adorable. You've written Luna and Neville so well even in such a short piece.

And the Snorkack and the pagoda made me snicker.

Very pleased that you think I've 'got' Luna and Neville! Shame that Theodore has not been equally obliging this evening... And I'm glad the Snorkack made you smile :-)

Looking forward to the next BAMSR very much, btw. Even though I know how harrowing it's going to be...

Does work fine without the second part, although isn't easy to understand without the context of the previous story. (Theo's not named, after all -- I wondered who it was until I saw the comment above and remembered the story.)

Mm - see what you mean. Part of that is my not having got the second bit done on time: I did quite like playing with the uncertainty of not having him named, except then you're meant to be able to go straight on to part 2 and find out... Curse my slow writing speed!
