Fluff written in response to the Day One "bottle" prompt for the there n back LOTR writing community's 2008 Advent Calendar challenge:

“Priinncce Elllllphir!  Where are you?” trilled a light feminine voice.  “Prince Erchirion!  Are you out here?  You promised you’d get me a drink!” exclaimed another in petulant tones.

Fabulous. I do love your Imrahil - sympathetic to the boys' plight, since he shares it, but not remotely sympathetic to their ducking out of it!

And it's very Imrahil not to go and fetch them back like children, but to say, in effect, "Have your fun if you must - and then pay the price like men!" He's wise as well as funny. Lovely.

Glad you liked it, Az! I've been lucky with this Advent stuff-the prompts usually kick-start my muse. I may be in conflict with our timeline here, I didn't bother to check before I wrote it, but if someone points it out, I'll fix it later. I just liked the idea of doing something with Imrahil and the four cousins as young men. IIRC, Erchirion is 16 at this point.

The great and near-great of Belfalas were greeted with the edifying sight of the youngest prince of Dol Amroth flat on his stomach and holding a frog up off the floor carefully in one hand.

*snort!*

Lovely, cheered me up after the day's teaching.

Glad to be of assistance! Not too much more to do, I hope.

Yesterday was the last day, thank god. I have to see them again one more time next term, and I'll get a batch of essays for that at the start of January, but now I can forget about it till the New Year.

Cheers to Altariel for The Pack, and to Isabeau for exploiting it! Amrothos shows the manipulativeness that marks him as Denethor's kin somewhere along the line, heh heh. Nevertheless, age and experience beat out youth and enthusiasm - as it will again the next day once Andra has his turn with four hung over princes of the realm!

Cute story!

great to find you on lj, may i friend?

enjoy your work immensely. laughed and laughed that imrahil got stranded.
love your dol amroth family and agree that imrahil is dilegent as a father in teach duty above personal comfort. and its probably the bottle from his office that he was looking forward to.

amrothos is a personal favorite and i hope your still writing when he starts seeing women. i can't wait to see you wade him through the pack.

Certainly, Nancy!

Glad you enjoyed it. I may very well one day write about Amrothos and his foray among the women. Given who he takes after though, there will probably only be The Woman.
