i finally downloaded some early Genesis albums, like Selling England By the Pound and The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway, and they fucking ROCK (this is while they still had Peter Gabriel)! aside from the epic scale of the songs and the fucking great instrumental work, their music is actually pretty smart. lots of T.S. Elliot references and

HELL YEAH MAN!!!!

Dude, Trespass up to The Lamb were the ONLY albums I practically listened to for two of my high school years. And yes, all of their albums and songs are genius and incredibly well-written. I can't even pick out a favourite. I still have my original copies of Nursery Cryme and Foxtrot on vinyl. All those albums makes anything without Gabriel and Hackett seem dull.
