LJ was sold to Russia and they sacked a bunch of people in SF.

Now, I know the Russians used to be a little backwards, but now, they're capitalist pigs like the rest of us. ANYWAY, I doubt they'll do anything to jeopardize the profitability of the current business model.

That being said, their government is no good indication.

Uhh, what profitability? They laid off most of the people except for sales and marketing types (from what I read yesterday and only vaguely recall today), which indicates a website on life-support.

P.S. Aside from livejournal paranoia, they're watching you. They told me so.
