This reads so realistically, with that under-the-surface smolder between them that was about as close as the show itself usually got in showing the level of intimacy between them. But then I love how you left it open!

There can never be enough post-NC reunion fic. This one is such a pleasure to read.

Thank you so much! I really enjoyed writing the under-the-surface smolder, but of course I had to go just the tiniest bit further than the show itself. :) I still can't decide if I think they stealthily got together some time soon after "A Day In The Life" or if it really took them as long as "The Hub" to admit anything. I of course totally want to believe the former, for their sake.

CUTE!!! I really hope that they would have taken a few moments to enjoy each other. This is far better than any scene we would have gotten on the show. Here's how I think that would have gone:

Roslin: Good to see you.

Adama: (nods) Madame President.

blackout, roll credits.

You conveyed the nature of their relationship so well.

I like the internal monologue you give Laura, allowing her to sense his presence and wonder whether she should have hugged him, all while acknowledging there is something between them that can't quite be actualized.

"Professionalism and occasional fits of the giggles." I love that summary. :)

And when they end up sitting in the passenger seats and Bill starts to state how he was thinking about her in particular, I love that you had her head him off and make a joke (or try to make a joke). That felt in character for where they were at with their relationship, and it was such a sweet moment.

Thanks for writing! Did you ever write a follow up so we could find out "what's next" in their evening?

Aw, thank you so much; this is such an awesome comment! :D I don't think I'll write a follow-up to this particular story -- I kinda like leaving it with that what next? feel -- but I would like to write these two again in some way, for sure. They are so great!
