Night 20 Update

Darkness descends on ominous grey wings as the house falls deeper and deeper into the night, thick stormclouds gathering to swallow the sky moment by moment. Day 020The night finally draws to an end, taking with it both monsters and beetles alike; the latter simply make their own way soon before sunrise, flying off to parts unknown, or vanishing by such means as crawling into cracks in the floorboards or hiding in bushes in the Greenhouse. Night 019

The enormous beetles depart as the sun sets, creeping away as stealthily as they came; the sudden hush they leave behind, after so long listening to their hum, is nothing if not ominous. It is tense and expectant, threatening--the silence being broken again, especially so soon, can bring nothing good with it.

Day 019As the sun rises and the monster-infested night fades into a memory, the house warms further, its heat and humidity growing oppressive and uncomfortable. As darkness falls over the house, the exhaustion lifts, as does the numbness that comes with it--right in time to usher in a night to test the residents' patience and stamina. As consolation, however, the house is no longer falling apart and rotting; it has been restored to its formerly pristine self.

Day 018Day creeps over the Dollsyhouse, and brings with it a peculiar sensation sweeping over the residents. DAY 17

Dawn creeps over the ruined house, and brings with it only limited respite from the night's trials. While the monsters, ghosts, and other hauntings of the night have vanished, the house's state of age and decay have remained, though it no longer seems to be getting worse.
