B&Bs are lovely. when are you going? i need DW to rescue your roommate, or at least to steel his resolve...

Second week in April. DW's break from work.

As for what my roommate does, that is his own business as far as I'm concerned, and I'm certainly not going to make him feel that he's going to get a lecture everytime he comes home. I'm not his mother :) (Hell I'm hardly a mother to myself)

The minute he comes to me asking for advise or help I'm there, but he's got enough other people on his case without me sic-ing DW on him :)

I do with he'd come home so we can plan and build the arcade console we've been talking about! BTW CW my father bought a ton (almost literally) of power tools this past weekend. Once we run 220v power we'll have access to an 8" jointer, and a 15" planer!

wow.
those are a LOT of power tools. you must be in heaven. i hope he comes to play w/them too. it would be fun. and too loud to hear the voices teling him to do dumb things!

i talked to him last night--you're not sic-ing DW on him, i am, with his permission. actually, what i told him was that he should throw himself at her feet and beg for protection, and he agreed that that would be a fantastic idea. i just don't know to what degree he'll follow through. he says he needs more of his friends to hit him with big sticks, and i'm not THERE to hit him. see. so if anybody's momming, it's all me.

which is not to say that i have any intention of turning that momming onto YOU. you do just fine. except for telling yourself NOT to get into helicopters, which any self-respecting mom would have to do. :)

Ok, fair enough. I need a regular gathering at my place to draw him over more. Or there needs to be a weekly gathering that he is (we are)) invited to. That will give him a reason to be out of the house and available for stick-hitting.

Yeah I'm pretty much an anti-mommy when it comes to somethings. I mean, two motorcycles and helicopter lessons!!?!? I must be brain damaged.

My parents borrowed my van for the weekend to go to a tool outlet in Penn. The planer was 500+ lbs, the jointer was in two pieces, but total must weight about that. Plus the other junk he got had the van riding pretty low, at least 1000 lbs. He's building up the wood working tools, my goal it to get some metal working tools and we'll have it covered. I bought an Angle grinder last weekend :) It makes pretty sparks...

Fantastic! As I run thru the files in my head I bring up....The Muppets? I think I remember a chant filled with bobbing stuffed Muppet-like creatures dancing on a beach singing the line in da conconut song...

Thanks for the memory, and thanks for a great idea. Now if I could only get myself to actually do it I'd be all set.
