Oh, that's brilliant. I hadn't seen it, so thank you! (And it also reminds me of why I loved Buffy - I want to go and watch S1 again...)

Isn't it brilliant? And how's Dominic the Vampire Killer these days, by the way?

Dominic has not been up to much, though I have been brooding on the matter of the St Stephen's House theological college Rover Scout Unit....

He doesn't approve of Edward, though.

He's quite right. Edward is his natural prey, as well as being a creepy stalker...

I can't get enough of the moment when she responds to how he likes watching her sleeping with a threat to throw him headfirst out of the window - and then follows through with it! A truly cheering moment.

That was a think of genius. If possible it has made me want to see Twilight even less than I did already...

Surprisingly, the Twilight film is really rather sweet - and done with a nice dollop of irony, and lashings of gorgeous scenery. The book and underlying concept, however...

I'm new to Twilight but a work colleague has just lent me the first two books. Have I got a treat in store for me?

I don't know - I think a lot depends on how you define the word "treat"!

The first book is strangely gripping, though not particularly well-written, and the author and the concept of pacing are complete strangers to each other. That said, it's a very readable book, and I liked it a lot more than I thought I was going to.

If you want to read something very funny (and spoiler-ridden), cleolinda has done some very disrespectful, very funny summaries of all four books.

Let me know what you make of it all!

I will see how I find the first book. I wasn't expecting great literature, for sure, but like a vampire tale as much as the next goth :) Am currently reading "Pride and Prejudice and Zombies".

That's a fine book! I'm amazed at how long the joke stays funny for - and particularly like the way they talk about "dreadfuls" and "unmentionables"!

One of my friends posted it on FB. I was speechless at how seamless it was.
