In which Life Imitates Art

Was I the only person who thought of mina_de_malfois  - not to mention dreamer_marie 's famous Pseucide Games - on reading this story?Especially the bit where he gets his sockpuppet arrested by the secret police because he's realised he's got all out of his depth?

Not really a funny story, and I certainly don't endorse behaving in that way.

wtf, myths exploded

Oh, I completely agree, it's revolting, and a whole different level of seriousness. The only parallels are some of the things Tom Whatsit is trotting out in justification of his awful behaviour.

Also, have you seen this? And how Second Fake Lesbian says what he did is totally OK because he outed Amina?

The definition of chutzpah used to be murdering your parents and then throwing yourself on the mercy of the court as an orphan. Clearly this is the postmodern version.

I suppose we should just be grateful he didn't try to blame it on the nanny.

One small crumb of comfort in an otherwise really awful tale. I started out grinning at the ooh, mina, sockpuppets! element, and ended up just really depressed about the world.

I know; it's a really nasty story, when you come down to it.

Not to mention that the media outlets really didn't need Charlotte Lennox levels of investigation to have worked out it was a fake.

That's certainly true. In fact, it wasn't that long ago that I was reading an article somewhere about this same poor young woman and her awful life...
