So much for quitting. But after one day of smoking again, all of my health problems immediately returned. I find it sad and funny that only while I am smoking do I really feel like quitting is possible. But I do plan to widdle it down some ( Read more... )

I think quitting smoking gradually is really the most effective. Everyone I know who tries to just cut it out invariably ends up going back. You just have to start breaking the patterns of smoking one at a time...and it might take several years to really get through it. Don't berate yourself or anything. You can still choose not to smoke sometimes, and you can make that choice more often as you go. Just keep at it, and continue to assert your control in small doses and it'll become easier over time.
