After five years, Yuko came to the East coast again to visit.  The last time I saw her was 5 years ago when I met her in NYC.  The last time she was in Richmond was 1997.  For those of you that don't know, Yuko was my exchange student in high school.  When she came here she wasn't very good with English despite her father being a Linguisics ( Read more... )

i wanted to tell you that my rant about mars the other day had nothing to do with you. you were actually the one remaining part of mars that i do miss and did always love. i just have way too many sad and difficult memories from there and that time of my life that i don't know if i'll be able to let go of. but i really wanted you to know that it was in no way, what-so-ever against you. i really like you and in a lot of ways look up to you. if i've got an issue with you or something you are doing or have done i will go to you about it. you probably didn't even see my post but i wanted to be sure i said this to you.

i do want to say how awesome it is that you got to see your friend! i have two friends who have exchange brothers and sisters and i'm jealous of you both! my family never did anything that interesting.

No offense taken by the Mars rant. :)

I was suprised my family let me have an exchange student. Of course, they didn't let me do my part of the exchange program and wouldn't let me to go Japan for part of the summer. They never let me out of the house.

My parent's problem was that we lived far away from anything and they never wanted to drive me. I didn't really have any friends, so no one would pick me up. They had no problems letting me run around in Pittsburgh though. It's safer up there than down here, so I could go wherever I wanted. The problem is there isn't much to do up there. I did still manage to sneak out to clubs when I was younger though.

I bet you had a blast! The shooting range was a great idea, and she looks really happy to be there. I wish you visit could have been longer; I always hate to tell friends goodbye. Does she plan on coming back again soon? Or maybe you guys will go visit her?

Hopefully, we'll be able to go see her next. We tried to stay up kind of late on Monday night talking, but she needed to finish packing and I was falling asleep. One more day would have been great. I would have liked for everyone to meet her and for us to just hang out longer.

I wasn't too sure if she'd be into the shooting range idea. Ed really wanted to go and he mentioned it to her and she was excited about it. It's something she can't do in Japan. We did go to the MAC store too. They have it in Tokyo, but I think it's cheaper here. They were sold out of a lot of stuff at your old store, so we went by the counter at Norstrom and they just don't carry as much. I did show her a few tricks you had shown me, and she was pretty psyched about that. She was pretty interested in the hair falls too.
