I'd dance to some of it. Especially Blanchmange and Tim Scott. I have them both on vinyl but if you dance in your living room to your records they tend to skip. :( Add Dance with Me - Lords of the New Church and I'm set.
And if you play Cajun Twister - Adam Ant I'll dance my ass off. I might be the only one though...
I do have the Lords and Cajun Twister... There's no shame in being the only one on the dancefloor, I only have one person out there right now, and he seems to be enjoying himself.
Most of those songs don't get played even at 80s nights, anymore? How depressing. It's not like these songs are abrasive moodkillers, or obscure third-string deep album cuts...
Of course, I'm at the point in my life where I'm listening to the music station that plays the songs of my adolescence and I'm surprised at what is being swept under the rug, so I understand what's happening here.
You would think so, but they don't. At least not here in SLC. It's mostly just really mainstream 80's: Michael Jackson, Madonna, all of that. I know DJ Radar (Who is actually DJing upstairs right now for one of his 80's Nights), would like to play this kind of stuff, but the kids won't go for it. I thought by playing this stuff, I could maybe get people from upstairs who want to hear the more New Wavey kind of stuff, but they seem to be scared of the "Goth Room".
