ATTN MEMBERS OF OPERATION RESCUE THE HO (it's like Capture the Flag, but creepier and more rusty)

The Liz Rescue and Stuff That's Up With That: If you are interested in participating, please read!

Also, because Lizmun is what we kindly call 'detail obssessive,' by which we mean, 'kind of weird,' if you're still in, please respond to this post. Thank you muchly and may the Dark Lord not eat many of your children.

1. We anticipate beginning on July 5th, and ending on July 19th. It may run a couple days later than that depending on how quickly people wind up moving through ye olde Walterworld (it's like that one movie, but with dripping pulsating Oedipal complexes instead of Kevin Costner). Action will probably be taking place daily, so it's pretty intensive. Note, though, that for the majority of the event, people will be broken down into separated groups of ~2-5, so if a conflict arises for you, you can communicate with the others in your "squad" about working around your character or about taking the day/night off. (Note: this will take place IG on the last day of OOG play, you don't have to pull your characters from the Nexus for weeks or any such thing.)

2. The following are characters interested in participating:
Walter Sullivan and Liz Sherman, natch. Henry Sherman-Townshend, Henry Townshend, Eileen Galvin, Cheryl Mason, Hellboy, Abe Sapien, Roger, Kate Corrigan, Lobster Johnson, St. John Allerdyce,Warren Peace, Derek Bliss, Leon Scott Kennedy, and Lina Inverse.

(If your name is crossed off, it means you've 'rung in' and we're moving ahead with the assumption that you'll be joining us. And we are wriggling with joy.)

So, here is what we need from each of you. Please E-Mail Lizmun as soon as humanly possible with any of the following.
-If the timing doesn't work for you, or if you think playing every day/night will be too much, etc. schedule problems, it's better in this case to bow out sooner rather than later. We understand and we still love you! We know there are a couple of other major plots planning to run at about that time that involve connection people. Problem is, we're going to try to tailor this to the participants as much as possible, so taking your character out later would be pretty tough. (Note, not being able to do the two weeks in Walterworld doesn't mean that you can't participate in helping Liz at all! The characters are/will be doing some research in order to make the mission happen, contact Liz or Henry or Eileen's muns if you'd like your character to pitch in with that.)

-If there's a player in that list who you'd rather not work with, again, E-Mail Lizmun at domina_igne at livejournal dot com and let her know ASAP. No questions asked. We'll try to split up the teams so that nobody's uncomfortable.

We're going to do the best we can to make this both a Silent Hill and a multiverse game. For those of you unfamiliar with the Silent Hill series, it pretty much hinges around the experience of being a clumsy untrained Joe Schmo off the street facing indescribable horror, armed with a pipe. Meanwhile, of course, a great many characters participating are highly trained and possess incredible power. We'd like to find a way of striking a balance, keeping this a Silent Hill game, which is about enduring your weakness and helplessness and fears, without being untrue to the characters.

So for those of you with supernaturally powerful characters, we'd like to work with you about a way to play around with that. To pull examples from other multiverse encounters with the setting: a character with divine powers finds their mythos and ethos aligning dangerously to match that of Silent Hill, a character with magical powers finds them snuffed out and they are forced to confront the world as a simple human. If you are one of those non-flatliners and you have ideas about how to adapt your character to Silent Hill, we would love to hear them!

And along similar lines, while this is taking place in Walter's realm and not the Otherworld proper, we're still going to try to get creative about involving people's personal journeys. If you have something you'd like to have happen to your character - a fear or memory or failure for them to be tormented by and possibly overcome, say! - let's talk! Got an argument or reconciliation or connection you'd like to have with one of the other cast members, let's group-talk! We're not really GMs here, more like NPCs and resources. We can chuck locations and monsters and a puzzle or two your way, but we're looking to all of you to find the ways for this to have emotional significance.

ETA ETA ETA T & A: We CANNOT STRESS THIS ENOUGH...ok, that's a complete lie, of course we could. In fact, I think this is about the outer limits of 'stressin' it.' Anyway! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE join realmofmother. It's a LOT easier to keep all the organizational stuff in the same place. PLZ.

Son of a Motherless goat Edit: Pyromun suggests, and brilliantly, the submission of some sort of 'fear profile.' This is a WONDERFUL IDEA and we highly recommend everyone do this. And hey, how's about y'all put it in realmofmother?

In conclusion, realmofmother realmofmother realmofmother realmofmother
