"Nobody enters without knocking... except for you." Heather smiled up at Aiden. She had sensed her enter. Could tell by the slight shuffle in the walk who it was.

"I wasn't sure whether I should or not. " Aiden smirked back at her.

"And call me paranoid but I worry about your safety. what if it hadn't been me?"

"I'll start locking the doors... and only you will have the only spare key." Heather could hear the worry in Aiden's voice.

Aiden's eyes widened in surprise, almost shock. She expected Heather to tell her she was worrying over nothing, or that she could take care of herself. or simply ignored. She sure as hell didn't expect to be agreed with. She didn't know what to say that wouldn't make her sound like a smart ass.

"I'd never ban you from flirting, Angel." Heather assured her softly. "This particular client has a habit of leading ladies on and then not following through."

Aiden laughed lightly. "That's not what I was worried with. I was just thinking how flirting can be in the eye of the beholder. It's like telling a joke, It doesn't matter how skilled a comedian you are if the other person has no sense of humor.

"He has tell-tale signs and the girls had reported him." Heather answered. "Now, are you wanting to just be us tonight, or are you wanting to work on your lessons?"

"Either way's a win-win since I get to hang out with you. But to tell you the truth...I am kinda bored job wise."

Heather smiled one last indulgent smile. "And from now on you'll address me as Lady Heather, until the session switches."

"Yes Lady Heather." she parroted as she started to gently pat and rub Heather dry with the towel.

Heather loved it when Aiden dried her off, she was always so thorough, so caring.

"So my Pet, what have you got up to today?" Heather turned to allow Aiden better access to her body.

Aiden almost met Heather's eyes but remembered and stop at her chin. She dried Heather's neck and arms, making sure to see that each finger was completely dry. After all, how could anyone feel truly dry if their hands were still damp?

"Oh, I dunno, nothing out of the ordinary. The phones were pretty quiet. Apparently it's the 'Back to School' lull." Aiden said, using the term she had picked up from her colleagues.

"I am trying to make it clear to him that I won't be taking him back. It is important that he realises this before we can re-cement our friendship." Heather said firmly.

Aiden shook her head in disbelief.

"You have told him it's over right?"

[lady_h_csi]

"I have." Heather answered, making it clear by her tone that she was being honest. "Mr Grissom is not accustomed to romantic encounters and he needs to adjust. I knew it would take him a while and I know the only way to make it clear is to ignore his calls."

Heather stood perfectly dry now. "You have nothing to be jealous of, Pet." She gently stroked Aiden's cheek.

Neither are you. she thought, but knew better than to say it.

"I'm not jealous." Aiden said honestly. "Just frustrated, with you not him." She folded the towel and placed it on the towel bar. "Am I supposed to get you something to wear?"

"Why, Angel?" Heather asked, temporarily switching out of Mistress mode.

"Why?!" Aiden said exasperatedly. "Because either Grissom hasn't gotten the message it's over loud and clear because you haven't given it to him or you should have a telephone restraining order taking out on the man the way he calls all the time. You have your employees dodging personal phone calls you don't want to take cause you obviously don't wanna deal with ending it. That or you're hanging onto him in case we don't work out. So you're either a bitch or a fool and either way it pisses me off."

"I'm not hanging onto him in case we don't work out!" Heather was hurt that Aiden could think that. "I thought he would have got the message by now. Prayed he would have, because if you want the honest answer I miss his friendship. I miss the way it used to be before he got all hot and heavy and tried to take it further. But if you want me to, I'll call him now, tell him to stop harassing me and my staff and that he's facing a restraining order if he tries again."

Heather had never meant to hurt Aiden.

"That's the point Heather!" Aiden said, feeling hurt as well. "You just left him hanging. You didn't end it. You left him hope and now he's pining away for you. What? Is that punishment for whatever he did to hurt you? Does it make you feel better? You can't let the man dangle like that and still expect his friendship. It's cruel." Aiden paused to take a breath.

"And you know what? Everyone acts like you and your soul mate are just having a little 'lovers quarrel'. Everyone expects you two to get back together again and yeah it hurts ok? I admit to that. But as a woman who's best friend is an ex let me tell you building the foundation for a solid friendship there."
