I had pretty good experiences with him right from his introduction. I first started playing him at hearts_andminds, where there was a Doctor Who exhibit in the museum. Seven's clothes were on display, so when I brought him in I treated his outfit as if had been taken from his timeline. Therefore his clothes were in the museum, separate from him, and he had to use Ace as a shield (and blind poor Mickey Smith). Also when Ten became John Smith, because Human Nature was originally Seven's story I treated it there as if Seven had always wanted to try being human, and his speech asking John Smith to return to normal was kind of heart-breaking.
He's been kind of difficult to find threads to do with, but I've enjoyed playing him. At Zion 8 he was made a station operations officer against his will, and got along very well with Laura Roslin. I also enjoyed having him interact with comingwith, who is probably my favorite Rose Tyler on LJ because she gets along so well with my characters, everyone from the Doctor to Mr. Seven to Lore.
I've liked his interactions with characters like T'Pol and Neelix at planetrecursion. I like to imagine up fake companions for him based off threads, and I think they would have been fantastic ones. As well as Vila Restal, who I always like to imagine became his companion and might have ended up teaming up with Bev Tarrant for something.
I like to use my other characters as conversation starters sometimes, and as a side for Mr. Seven I've had Isis harass the Doctor in the background several times. Which is always pretty funny because his companions are invariably amused by it. No one comes to his rescue- not that I would want them to, but it's funny.
There are some things that I would still like to do, like explore his psychic ability more, or do some more with those fake companions. Especially since he tended toward the ones of questionable morality.
