Tomorrow, I'm going to see my Dad around 7ish =P

I rented:

Spanglish
The Boogey Man
Cursed

I didn't like Spanglish that much, and there's not an Adam Sandler movie I don't like. It was funny, dramatic, and not a bad film at all, it was really comming of age, but it didn't stand out for me, except for the part of Flor's daughter wanted to break away and get an education, one her mother never had the chance to have. At the end was the only part that really got to me, when the daughter realized that she is her mother's daughter, and throughout the movie, the daughter is the narrator who wrote this essay to a college admissions, and though it never says if she's gets in, you could imagine that she does. The rest of it is basically about a mother being estranged from her husband and children, but at the end realizes that she does love her husband. The thing that irked me is that the mother ( who is played by tea leoni ) and her daughter, Bernice never really worked out their differences, it was totally dropped, and I didn't like how the mother took Flor's daughter out ( well I liked it but didn't, I liked it because the girl really enjoyed how the girl really enjoyed her day ), but why wouldn't the mother do that for her own daughter? - and the mother would always compliment Flor's daughter, while the only conversation she had with her own daughter onscreen was trying to get her the loose weight. Overall, it *was* really comming of age. Not something that wowed me though. Paz Vega was great in it, as Flor. I did however like the way she learned english, and learned a few other things too, about letting go, and how much she loved her daughter, and how attached she was to her. They never said if Deb and John ever reconciled, it just ended with Deb sitting alone, sad. The audience would have tojust sumize what could have happened next.
