Oh, I *love* Dido and Aeneus! I was part of it when I was in secondary school, and we were lucky enough to work with some members of the Scottish National Opera. It was an experience I'll never forget!

Here's wishing you all the very best with the Magic Flute - another of my favs! :)

Isn't it a brilliant opera? Man, it was such a treat getting to listen to it in rehearsals--especially once the orchestra showed up. I'm the luckiest girl int he world! It must've been so fantastic to do it when you were younger--what part were you? (And if you did chorus, don't ever say "just chorus"--in Dido, that's probably the main character. ;))

And thanks for the luck-wishing! I am really, really looking forward to doing Flute. Apparently I'm good at evil. :D

I *was* in the chorus actually, and I had a minor role with a solo of about 6 lines! I was a spirit of some kind - it was fun! :)

Oooh! "Stay Prince, and hear great Jove's command! He sends you on this night away, etc, etc" Heee! That's neat! And I love the chorus in Dido--honestly, it's the main character. Everyone else is sort of incidental to the choral set-pieces. Well, okay, everything except Dido's lament.

I should be free some time this evening, but I doubt you'll be up that late... I'm coming back from *cough*therapy*cough* by 5:30 or so. Tell me if that'd be good for you!
