Match It For Pratchett

Hello, community! This one is for fans of the brilliant Terry Pratchett, who was diagnosed with early onset Alzheimers this year.

If I ever get around to actually reading a Disc World book (I know, I know, I'm the only person ever in the world not to have read at least ten), I'm very much there.

I've got a couple of friends who are really into the Disc World stuff, I'll point them in the direction of this post. :)

Thank you!

Why not make the read-athon your first discworld :)

Ooh, yeah, good idea!

I've just remembered, I've got exams in May/early June (as will a fair few people, I'd imagine) so it might be an idea to do it in July, when it's nice and warm, and students have finished for the year, so have more spare time. Just a thought. :)

I could definitely be tempted. Maybe a better place might be a big park or something if it's nice though - lots of space as well.

Space is good, but I think perhaps it needs to be really public too to get any passing interest and publicity.

That's true - me not thinking things through as usual. So I'm not good with planning but I'm definitely interested in coming along :]

If it was in July or such (after exams, basically), I'd definitely go!

Not sure about Leicester Square, but perhaps Soho Square?

I guess we want to balance how silly we might feel with public gathering laws and the chance of there being random members of public about to make donations.

Sounds good.

Maybe you should cross-post this to a Pratchett community as well, such as 'discworld' (sorry, I don't know how to put group or usernames in to comments *sadface*)?

I'm waiting on a reply from the Alzheimers charity first, to see if I can do it officially, and how to get hold of donation buckets and things.

Once I know how feasible it is, promoting will happen :)
