You lj-cut is broked!!!!

Looks like a really fun night! Although I saw Wil Hodgson once in Nottingham at a pre-edinburgh show and it was the worst comedy gig I've ever been to. The poor chap was late starting, was obviously nervous and tired, his first jokes fell flat, it got worse and worse as he got heckled but someone with funnier heckles than his put downs, he started mumbling, talking through his pint glass, drinking more and more, and then he developed a nervous twitch...

It was horrible, and yet fascinating, like a car crash. We were trying to laugh and be supportive as we felt so sorry for him, but he was just having the worst time ever.

You could see who what he was saying could be funny, but his timing, delivery and confidence were all so off :(

'Ello! Cut should be fixed now, sorry about that. I did it on *all* my community posts as well, what an idiot!

Pre-Edinburgh shows are always weird, the confidence thing becomes such a massive factor when you've invested several grand in March into a show you won't really write until July ;) I don't think I've ever seen WIl have a bad gig but I can imagine it in the scenario you describe!

It was like an Edinburgh warm up, literally about a weekend before the festival! I've never felt so awful for anyone in my life - I felt a kinship to him due tot he obvious alternative thing going on, I was sat there with pink dreads and platform trainers and all my piercings. He kept looking at us with this wild expression of panic.
