In a moment of Wild Abandon -- or perhaps Whimsical Boredom -- I've decided to place a prelminary entry here, months after I opened the account (one of the free ones, obtained because I'm a Galactic Observer by nature, and want to read what some of my friends & acquaintances are publishing in their LJs) partly because I'm wondering about the 75

Just trying to figure out how this stuff works -- though I might note the discovery that I'd been on LJ for about three days less than a year before this initial entry, and seem to have posted 76 comments to other people during that time.

That bit turned out to be a minor glitch in the Preview stage (doing the common Strange Things with dashes & apostrophes) which cleared up in the actual posting. Other problems, discovered by burrowing deeper, are more vexing (but presumably not impossible to transcend). I'm sure everything having to do with computers is figure-out-able, possibly even by me (you, having more experience in the field, could probably do it faster). The crucial point is whether or not I want to devote the necessary time & energy to it. Probably not (as of 05.08.21) -- LJ/blogging could easily become something close to an Infinite Time-Sink, and I already have quite enough of those, thank you very much. The greedy desire to keep up with what a bunch of friends & acquaintances are saying is powerful, of course, but email & Mailing Lists are already close to being too time-consuming to cope with.

We will take what we can get! I understand about the "time sink" it really can become a total obsession... um, not for me of course... :)
