Maybe Philly is paradise. I've only been to New York, DC, Boston, and Baltimore, I think. All muggy or cold.

Boston/Cambridge is definitely one of the most expensive cities, at least for real estate. I wonder how Forbes determines that something isn't just expensive, but actually overpriced.

I think it had something to do with jobs and wages. People there make plenty of money to cover the expense, I guess.

though not a major metropolis, santa curz current median price of a 'home' (i remember when it was pegged as having 'potential') of over $750K. also it's a place with very few jobs--except for the County and UCSC--the two major employers, followed by the Boardwalk (min. wage) and a sparse few others.
makes one wonder whatever happened to the middle class. suppose they are eating 'cake.' ciao!

I wonder about all of northern california. I love it, but can't imagine (making a)living there. Santa Cruz is great. I had an old student who put me up in Aptos in a beautiful place a couple of years ago. We went drinking in downtown SC. Loads of fun.
