Do I really have to explain to you why this metric sucks?

If Congress passes health care reform with a strong public option, that metric will improve by at least eight points.

Perhaps. And when people actually try to get treatment, it will swing 10 points back the other way.

Cute, but wrong. Access will probably drastically improve with such a plan. Besides which, you're not taking into account what this metric actually measures. His strong positives are sinking because the President hasn't been liberal enough for his base.

What planet are you living on? Not liberal enough? People are ticked about the stimulus money being blown with no discernable benefit and with the government takeover of GM.

How can access improve when supply does not increase? Government subsidy will surely drive up demand, but with government price controls and salary caps who is going to want to be a doctor? It happens in every country where government takes over health care -- supply drops and they are forced to ration.
