4 doctor's visits in two weeks.
15 vials of blood drawn. I have small, collapsing and disappearing veins (being hydrated doesn't seem to help, either), so the phlebotomists have needed to get increasingly creative. Today I came home with three bandages.
(Karma must be forcing me to make up for all those years I've gone without needing to see a doctor.)
There's still no definitive diagnosis on what made me all puffy and swollen and in sever pain, after I got that virus.
It could still be
vasculitis, as was originally diagnosed. That's looking less likely, though.
It might be
Henoch-Schonlein Purpura, which is just one form of vasculitis.
Or it could even just be
viral arthritis. I hope it's this; there's less chance of long-term stuff.
One of today's blood vials went for
Hepatitus C testing, though the chances of that are very slim.
As it is, I need to make a follow-up appointment to see the the rheumatology specialist in 6 weeks (and tomorrow I go back to the clinic to get X-rays of my lungs to check on the nasty cough that's developed in the past few days). In 6 weeks, if I still have the pain and swelling, it means at least one possibility can be eliminated.
Yeah, I must have a lot to make up for. :D
....whee....
