"Stupidity" is more a lack of common sense, or failing to learn what one is taught, or failing to apply what is learned. You learned, you just had no need to apply it = not stupid.

I think "ignorance" implies a certain willingness to remain in the dark, particularly about a very important issue (like prejudice). It's closed-mindedness.

Someone who doesn't know something, but is unaware that there is more to know, is - in a sense - simply innocent.

I think ignorance would be too strong a word. I think you just lack knowledge on the subject of dinosaurs. But it's ok! You can learn about dinos again!
