2006
I said I'd do this about a week ago, and I'm determined to do it before Christmas, so here goes!
1. What did you do in 2006 that you'd never done before?
Oooh, where to start?! I bought a house. I therefore lived away from home. I started work in adult education. I actually enjoyed work (that must be a first!).
2. Did you keep your New Year's resolutions? Will you make more for next year?
I did pretty well at keeping them actually. I wasn't perfect, but I'm quite pleased. I may just re-make them all this year, and try and get motivated to keeping them again!
3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
Nope.
4. Did anyone close to you die?
Not really close, but Dennis, one of my parent's oldest friends, died in August.
5. What countries did you visit?
Only England this year.
6. What would you like to have in 2007 that you lacked in 2006?
Money. More money is always good. And would it be terribly pathetic and sad to say a man? It's not normally something I'm bothered about, but sometimes I think it would be nice.
7. What date from 2006 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
Hmmm. Can't think of one that especially stands out. Which is quite unusual!
8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
A new job that I absolutely love. And I suppose finally moving out of home into my own place.
9. What was your biggest failure?
Not going there. I actually can't think of anything, so I'm not going to go deliberately looking.
10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
Before last night I'd say no, but the way my back is today...:)
11. What was the best thing you bought?
Ummm, a house? :D
12. Whose behaviour merited celebration?
Erm, really not sure about that one.
13. Whose behaviour made you appalled and depressed?
Just people in general, mostly when they're behind the wheel!
14. Where did most of your money go?
Craft stash, theatre visits, house!
15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
The house, the new job (this is getting predictable, isn't it?), Doctor Who, Torchwood, Christmas!
16. What song will always remind you of 2006?
She Moves in Her Own Way, the Kooks, because every time I switch the radio on, it seems to be playing !
17. Compared to this time last year, are you:
(a) Thinner/Fatter: Thinner (hurrah!)
(b) Richer/Poorer: Hmmm, I have more money coming in, but also more going out, so probably poorer overall.
c) Happier/Sadder: Happier. So, so much happier than last year. Hurrah again!
18. What do you wish you'd done more of?
Seeing friends, saving money, exercise
19. What do you wish you'd done less of?
Spending money (as usual!)
20. How will you be spending Christmas?
With mum, dad and brother as usual.
21. What was the funniest insult you received this year?
Freak Clique! :)
22. How many one night stands?
Zero...again.
23. Did you fall in love in 2006?
Nope.
24. What was your favourite TV program?
Do I really need to answer this one? :) Doctor Who, closely followed by Studio 60
25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?
Not that I can think of. I don't tend to hate people (other than in a temper tantrum sort of way).
26. What was the best book you read?
Difficult one. I loved Cry of the Icemark though, so I'll pick that.
27. What was your greatest musical discovery?
I don't think I've made any this year. Although Avenue Q was pretty great. And I'm just getting into the Fratellis
28. What did you want and get?
A job, a house, the Doctor Who boxset. :D
29. What did you want and not get?
Actually pretty satisfied this year. :)
30. What was your favourite film of this year?
The History Boys
31. What was your favourite game this year?
Don't do games!
32. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
See number 29. :)Although spare cash would be nice.
33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2006?
I'm supposed to have a fashion concept? :D Pretty casual mainly. Although I like pretty things and am quite into the whole old fashioned style that's been around this year.
34. What kept you sane?
I may have to be predictable again and say my LJ flist. :)
35. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
And again, do I need to answer this? :D David Tennant. It went way beyond fancying and became slight obsession. :)
36. What political issue stirred you the most?
Nothing really. Couldn't even tell you what sort of things happened this year! Although Lembit Opik dumping Sian Lloyd for a Cheeky Girl intrigues me - does that count? ;)
37. Who did you miss?
No-one in particular, but I missed out on various trips/visits and missed seeing people because of that.
38. Who was the best new person you met?
The person who sits next to me in work.

If you stop worrying about stuff, it might actually work out for you. :)
