Wow. I can totally believe this. It really improved my evening. The transgressive hurry of it, the fear and anger and amusement underneath, quite hot.

Oh hello! I didn't know you read Musketeers fics. I'm very glad you liked it, I greatly value your opinion on writing.

I read it not for the Musketeers, but because you wrote it, and that made me pretty sure I would like it.

Oh, wow, I didn't expect that. I assumed you were a casual Musketeers reader. Thank you so much, I'm ridiculously flattered.

And seeing as you said that, it's occurred to me that you might be interested in my current WIP then. It's not quite your historical period of interest, as it's set in 1630 and is therefore slightly later than Kit Marlowe and earlier than the Age of Sail. But: the idea is to tell a baroque ghost tale/psychological horror story by using the superstitions of the age. It references ideas, philosophies, science and literature of that period, and is embedded in its political and societal framework (e.g. religious wars in Europe). And if I'm not mistaken, this is something you are interested in.

Set in the Musketeers universe, because that's my current crack, but departs from canon so completely that no knowledge of the show is required. I consider it one of the best things I've ever written, TBH.
