The choice of Sarah Palin as McCain's VP is just offensive.

That is all.

"Is McCain so ignorant that he thinks women are so stupid that they're going to vote for him just because he has a woman on the ticket?"

Ugh, I know. Hopefully it won't draw too many Hillary supporters though - they have nothing in common except an XX chromosome.

I like the following from the Washington Post: "Palin is the first woman to serve as the Republican vice presidential pick; Democrats crossed that Rubicon in 1984." Like, way to go, guys, on being 24 years behind the opposition.

I have *lots* more to say about this, but we can rehash next time we talk.

Well, not like the dem's chose another one after '84. It was kind of a massive failure (Ferraro's fault or not, I don't know).

I think Palin's a terrible choice in pretty much every way (except that it excites evangelicals), but just sayin'.

I don't think the PUMA's are in it to see a woman VP, they're in it to see HILLARY be prez. That's the mistake McCain's made, and I think it'll hurt him. Rolling Stone's national affairs blog has an excellent run down of the various reasons why Palin is a terrifyingly awful VP choice.

Yeah...I'm a Republican and even I'm pretty pissed about it. I mean I guess I don't find her actual views so bad, but she has no experience, she's from a state that nobody cares about, and she's not going to do anything to help blunt Obama's post-DNC momentum. Apparently the Republicans are taking pages from the Democrats' 2004 playbook on how to screw up a campaign.
