1) What would the world be like without deception? I imagine there would be far less people due to death or inability to breed.
a. Would it function? I believe it would, but things would but much more predatory when dealing with outsiders, ie people not in your community.
b. Would it be a completely good thing to be without any forms of deception? Unless people formed the ability to be thick skinned and not take the truth personally I would no. I have far too often in my life been slammed by my friends for being too truthful. The Truth often hurts which makes for bad public relations.
c. Is all are current forms of lying always bad, e.g. lies of omission, "small white lies", lying to be nice/help someone? I personally wish people would be more straight up with each other, but since many people are thin skinned and afraid of the truth, I would say that lies are not negative things. But it all comes down to what the lie produces. Does it produce a positive effect in the long run? Then it served a positive purpose. If not then
