I agree with you overall, Blair, totally- but I don't think it's quite fair or true to say it's "liberal yuppy retards" that are doing this. I believe it's people from all walks of life, with all kinds of political opinions and lifestyles, who are more apt to pay attention if things are right here at home. There are plenty of people who buy the "support our troops" bumper-clings, but do not think twice about the number of soldiers who are dying in the war. They buy the magnet, and that's the end.

Anyway, as I said, I'm not disputing your main point, but I can't agree with the placement of blame.
