So I have a math midterm tomorrow. I'm not terribly worried, but I sure need to study. I had a terrible time with Taylor expansions last year (prolly cause neither my TA nor my prof spoke English), so I hope to redeem myself on this exam. Here's the more enjoyable part of my review. ;)
sin(z) = z - z3/3! + z5/5! - ...,
cos(z) = 1 - z2/2

...and that makes me cry. I don't even want to do that much math. =(
I like programming - that's math I enjoy because it has an amusing purpose... but other than that - fuck math. =P

Doesn't that use a good deal of probability (permutations, etc?)
or perhaps deductive mathematical logic?
I started off in a math logic last semester, but dropped it after one lecture. Friggin' impossible if you haven't had the prerequisites.
At least (for you) it's good for something - don't you think you're being a bit harsh on it?

there's a lot of algebra. Ocassionally some trig and calc depending on what you're doing. (I don't actually know any calc so I avoid doing any games that would require it - but it's fairly easy to avoid if you're not doing a realstic physics engine or something which I would never bother with =P)
That's about it.
It's very much:
if a=b then
c = d
otherwise
c = d + 1
that sort of thing. =P
I'm afraid that if I go back to regular math i'll be confused for a while because i'm too used to programming math now, as it's been the only math i've done in 3 years =D
Specifically Actionscript's take on math...
I'll be using things like =='s as well as ='s, ++'s as well as +'s, and !='s just for good measure!
