Gale's finger still felt odd without the Tag ring on it, but he was starting to get used to accessing the ATM to get money, and purchasing from vendors that were actual people rather than simply rooms full of equipment

Michael didn't think he'd ever get used to worldhopping, even though he had his own device for doing it now. Watching as the world materialise around him, he shot his hand out to rest against the closest firm surface, his body being reminded forcefully what up and down were again.
He didn't have to search far before he spotted Gale, bright green hair and all. He lifted a hand in greeting.
Gale moved closer to Michael. The red light of the Terminal played over his body and face. He didn't smile, but there was pleasure in his green eyes, somehow.
"Michael," he said. "It is good to see you again."
"'Up'?" Gale echoed in confusion, then realized what Michael had to mean. "We are in the stronghold of a human resistance movement. The Karma Society have turned themselves into demons, and they kidnap the humans and kill them for food. We are still looking for some of my comrades, and we are helping these people."
He looked down, then up again. "Nirvana is not what we hoped it would be."

"It's good to see that you haven't managed to get yourself killed," was all he said in response however. "What's up?"
