I broke down and bought new riding boots today. 118 dollars later...hopefully once I'm done breaking them in I won't see heel blisters for awhile. Part of why I had to get new ones was that mine had gone so far past "broken in" that they were tearing my heels up ( Read more... )

I found out this morning that Oakley doesn't make my sunglasses anymore. Since senior year in high school, I've worn the Oakley Fate. And now they've discontinued it. *sigh* I've had 2 pairs, beat the crap out of them, they somehow manage to survive, and now I can't get them anymore. Stupid Oakley.

Also, I'm 23 today. Gark.

I set out to make gingerbread dough, so that Carrie and I could make a gingerbread house (I'm too cheap to want to pay for a kit). And something's gone horribly, horribly wrong with the dough. I'm pretty sure it's totally the wrong consistency.

I could start by saying it's been the best semester of my life. Probably not my life, but maybe my college career. My grades aren't all in yet, but I'm pretty sure I didn't fail anything. I want to do something fun. It's been a long time since I had some real fun.

So today I got the Holiday issue of the "SmartPak Equine" catalog. In the section for horse treats there's a picture of a picture of a bunch of oats and such, stuck together in the shape of a ball, hanging from a string. The product name? "Uncle Jimmy's Hangin' Balls."

I woke up this morning all excited because I had managed to sleep in.

It was 8:30am.

I feel that you know you're getting older when sleeping until a time like 8:30am, or 8:00am, is actually "sleeping in".
