I refuse to believe in the notion of a particular style. While a group of artists may do something similarly what they create is in fact different from one another. Whether it's the type of equipment, medium, subject matter etc. there is always a difference or several differences between each individual artist.
The other problem though is that you get good artists who know what they are doing and "break the rules," as it were. The thing that a lot of people who call themselves artists but are really hacks forget is that these folks who break the rules are only able to do so because they can do it the other way and at times while it may look like they are breaking the rules they really aren't.
In the end those who are accessible and skilled get more work.
