Memorial day is observed the last Monday in May. It honors those who fought in wars for the usa. There used to be days for each war but more recently memorial day is used to honor all those who died in any of the wars (so many now) Veterans and the families of the dead soldiers decorate the graves and there are speeches and other observations.

the rain today was in addition to the trace previously (that was very light, hardly a rain at all) Today there was a heavy downpour but it was very short. we need a steady light rain for several days.
